About Me
I’m Cassie, a 25-year-old queer director and photographer from Nottingham who’s been part of Nottingham’s dramatics scene for over 15 years and now also in London.
I’m passionate about championing new writing, especially plays that centre female voices and queer stories within working-class contexts. I love reading new work and am committed to discovering, nurturing, and supporting writers and creatives whose stories might otherwise go unheard. I believe in theatre that reflects the complexity of the world we live in, with warmth, humour, and political bite but also provides new worlds to be transported to.
Alongside this, I care deeply about the development of local amateur performers and youth groups. These spaces were essential to my own creative growth, and I want to help ensure they remain vibrant, inclusive, and accessible.
As a photographer, I specialise in candid behind-the-scenes theatre photography—capturing the quiet magic of rehearsals, the energy of backstage moments, and the unseen labour that brings a production to life. My work aims to celebrate the people and processes behind performance, offering a documentary-style record of creativity in action.
